Tomb of General Gwon Yul
It is the grave of General Gwon Yul (1537 ~ 1599), a noted scholar and distinguished general during the Joseon Dynasty. His bongwan was Andong, his Ja was Eonsin, his he was Manchuidang Moak and his pen name was Chungjang.
He passed an examination to become a public servant in 1582 (the 15th year of King Seonjo) and served as Jeolladodosa, Yejojeongrang, Hojojeongrang and Gyeongseongpangwan before serving as Ulju Moksa in 1591. During the Imjinwaeran (1592~1598), he led 10,000 soldiers and occupied a position in Doksanseong in order to stop the enemies from moving to the west.
In 1593 (the 26th year of King Seonjo), he moved the position to Haengjusanseong to restore Seoul and defeated 30,000 Japanese invaders in cooperation with residents. It is Haengjudaecheop, one of three greatest victories (Jinjudaecheop, Hansandodaecheop and Haengjudaecheop) during the Imjinwaeran (the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. When Gwon Yul died in 1599 (the 32nd year of King Seonjo), he was appointed as prime minster to commemorate his achievement.
